I really enjoyed learning about RSS feeds, I have seen the icon on a lot of websites and never knew what it was. Library Thing was really interesting and something I would use in the future. WorldCat will probably be the most useful for work.
Least Favorite - Technorati was my least favorite. Searching blogs and how it was set-up was just too much. I didn't like the set-up, not remotely interesting and something I don't think I would use again.
Web2.0 Getting Involved in the Library - this is tough for me to answer. I am not sure. I saw that we put WorldCat on the ocl web page. I thought that was a good idea. But I am not sure how we implement this into the libary. I know we already use podcasts, You Tube, Wikis.
What Services Have I shared - ListenNJ was a site I told my husband about, on his lunch break he watches TV shows on the net I think he would probably like to listen to books too. Farecast.com and other Web 2.0 Award Winners, I sent those sites to a few people.

Thing #22 - ListenNJ

I have heard of ListenNJ but I have actually not been on the website before today. I think it is great that you can download books and even burn some of them. I did try going on the waiting list for some books but I didn't like how you couldn't tell what number you were. This exercise was probably the most difficult for me. I wasn't able to download at work so I did ask my hubby for assistance putting it in his computer.

Thing #21 - Finding & Listening Podcasts

http://www.lonelyplanet.com/podcasts/travelcasts/vegas.m3u

Vegas Baby! That site is amazing, I was unable to find a flight that they would guarantee on (if the price goes down they will refund your money type thing). It is inevitable! I am not sure I completely understand Library 2.0 or Web 2.0 for that fact but we all have to learn. We don't stamp the back of the books anymore with the due date people have adjusted to that (slowly but they have). The schools have started using blackboard to help the parents see what and how there kids are doing encouraging the parents to get involved and even participate in feedback. Essentially what Library 2.0 is doing becoming more involved and encouraging feedback. I think I got the most out of "To a Temporary Place in Time" article. That one made me think back to when I was a kid and just remember the library being all about story-time. I looked at the Top 100 picks for Technorati and I thought the blogs were so boring. I was thankful when I realized that they had a Movies tab and a Book tab. Now that was interesting. The Top 100 was too much techno stuff. Grant it I know we all need to know about new technology I just don't see myself reading that for enjoyment so i pleased to see that there were other option to choose from. The one thing I do like about tags is when you search one topic it gives you so many different related topics that helps if you are searching.

Thing #13 - Tagging

I think this is the first challenge that I don't think I would get a lot of use of. I know I have referred quite a few people to the reference desk to get set-up on NetLibrary. I cannot believe how easy it is to sign-up. It took me a little bit to realize that the books were mostly non-fiction types books. I don't think I got that right off the bat. I viewed a couple of travel guides which was interesting. I think for me that would be really great to use.

WorldCat - I have never actually used WorldCat before, I am not sure why I would use Amazon anymore to look up information for ILLs. I was told WorldCat doesn't give you the price but I saw an insert from amazon right on WorldCat stating the price that you find on Amazon. I like how they have all the information right there. Thankfully, excel, word and powerpoint have pretty much stayed the same or I would feel completely lost when it came to the computer. I use excel and powerpoint daily and love those programs but other then that i haven't kept up on things. I have 2 small kids that seem to want everything so it has been about 5 years since I have bought myself anything electronic. Thankfully my husband fixes computers for a living so he is able to keep my ancient laptop in up to date working order, but now-a-days kids have computers in kindergarten - that is insane!! I just want to complete this challenge, learn a few things, and get my new mp3 player (of course i have to learn how to use it).

Posted a commet to Technophone? blog - thing #6.

Thing #9 - Finding Feeds

Syndic8 was the easiest tool for me to use. #4 - 7 and 1/2 Lifelong Learning Habits

Thing #3 - Since I live through the eyes of two young boys, the easiest habit for me is playing. I know they grow up so fast that I will drop just about anything I am doing to spend time playing with them. With that in mind the hardest habit for me is the use of technology. I am amazed in just 3 short years how I have fallen out of the technological loop. I think this challenge will be great for me since I enjoy learning new things that help me keep up with the times.

Thing #4 - Emailed Blog to oclwebthings@gmail.com
